Siriraj signs a memorandum of understanding with Bangkok Hospital Headquarters to enhance the care for pregnant women and fetuses.

Date June 10, 2025 – The Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University in collaboration with Bangkok Hospital Headquarters under the management of Bangkok Dusit Medical Services Public Company Limited hosted a signing ceremony for a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) for the care of pregnant women and their fetuses to promote, support, and develop healthcare for pregnant women and fetuses to ensure a good quality of life, presided over by Professor Dr. Apichat Asavamongkolkul, Dean of the Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, who signed on behalf of Mahidol University, and Dr. Methinee Maipang, Chairman of the Executive Group 1 and Director of Bangkok Hospital, who signed on behalf of Bangkok Dusit Medical Services Public Company Limited, marking the beginning of an important collaboration to enhance care for pregnant women and their fetuses to ensure a good quality of life.

This collaboration focuses on promoting, supporting, and developing healthcare to be as effective as possible over a period of 5 years, including transfers between hospitals in case the pregnant women and fetuses face risks or unexpected complications. There is research and application of academic knowledge to optimize benefits, as well as creating collaboration in all sectors including academic, technology, and policy to ensure the health of mothers and fetuses under national medical standards.

Dr. Methinee Maipang, Chairman of the Executive Committee and Director of Bangkok Hospital, said, “The Women’s Health Center and Pediatric Center of Bangkok Hospital emphasize comprehensive care for pregnant women and fetuses, working collaboratively between specialized medical teams and healthcare personnel, alongside rapid medical information exchange to facilitate smooth patient transfers between hospitals. We believe that cooperation in caring for mothers and infants is the key to enhancing safety and quality of life”.

This collaboration is considered an important step in the integration of knowledge between the educational sector and the public and private health service sectors to enhance the quality of care for mothers and fetuses to ensure safety, taking care from the start of pregnancy to postpartum, which is a vital foundation for future health. The Faculty of Medicine Siriraj Hospital, Mahidol University, and Bangkok Hospital are ready to drive this mission sustainably together.
