BE YOURSELF UNIT

be Yourself Unit

Compassionate, specialized, and evidence-based care for transgender women

At Be Yourself Unit, we believe that transgender women’s health is not an “option” — it is a fundamental right that deserves respectful, professional, and comprehensive care. Our services are delivered by a multidisciplinary team that understands the physical, emotional, and social dimensions of gender affirmation, following international guidelines such as WPATH and the Endocrine Society.

Our services include:

1) Gender-Affirming Hormone Therapy)

  • Personalized selection and dosing of estrogen and anti-androgens
  • Initial health screening and evaluation of suitability before starting hormones
  • Ongoing monitoring of physical changes, clotting risk, cardiovascular and liver function, and hormone levels
  • In-depth counseling on expected effects and side effects, aligned with realistic goals

2) Pre- and Post-Gender-Affirming Surgery Hormone Management

Hormonal care tailored to surgical stages

  • Temporary hormone adjustment before surgery and careful reintroduction post-surgery
  • Prevention of complications such as deep vein thrombosis (DVT)
  • Close coordination with surgical teams to ensure safety and continuity of care

3) Health Check-up Program for Transgender Women

A dedicated health screening program designed specifically for transgender women
Created by physicians who understand the unique physiology and post-surgical anatomy of transgender women, this program addresses both general health and transition-specific risks.

Screening includes:

  • Hormone level monitoring (estrogen, testosterone, and related markers)
To assess physical response and long-term hormonal balance
  • Blood sugar and lipid profile testing
To detect early risks for diabetes and high cholesterol related to hormone therapy
  • Breast cancer screening
For both non-augmented and augmented breasts, with appropriate imaging to detect tissue abnormalities
  • Neovaginal cancer screening
For those who have undergone sigmoid colon vaginoplasty, we offer neovaginoscopy performed by specialists to assess the neovaginal lining for changes or malignancy
  • Sexually transmitted infection (STI) testing
Including HIV, syphilis, gonorrhea, chlamydia, and HPV — recognizing the increased risks related to both hormonal and anatomical changes

This program is customizable based on your transition stage and personal lifestyle to support long-term wellness and peace of mind.

4) Sexual Health & Intimacy Counseling for Transgender Women

Addressing sexual concerns with care, science, and understanding

Many transgender women experience challenges related to intimacy, sexual response, and confidence in sexual relationships. At Be Yourself Unit, we offer a safe and non-judgmental space to explore and resolve:

  • Changes in sexual desire, sensitivity, or physical response
  • Concerns around intimacy and communication with a partner as a transgender woman
  • Emotional barriers to pleasure and self-expression
  • Navigating relationships post-transition

Our counseling integrates hormonal care, behavioral therapy, and psychotherapy, guided by clinicians who have deep experience in gender-diverse sexual health and LGBTQ+ inclusive care.

5) Psychiatric Assessment Before Gender-Affirming Surgery

Supportive readiness assessment — not a gatekeeping process

We follow WPATH guidelines in providing psychiatric assessments that help ensure your surgical journey is grounded in clarity, support, and informed readiness — not judgment or delay.

  • Conducted by psychiatrists with specific expertise in transgender care
  • Assesses your mental health, understanding of the procedure, and cognitive preparedness
  • Develops post-surgical support plans for adjustment, recovery, and long-term emotional well-being
  • Focused on collaboration and respect — not on permission, but on preparation

This process is here to support your journey — not to stand in its way.

6) Mental Illness Management in Transgender Women

Compassionate mental health care — because healing is part of becoming

Mental health is a vital part of every transition journey. We know that being a transgender woman in a world that still struggles to understand can lead to deep and lasting emotional wounds — from discrimination, loss of relationships, lack of acceptance, or simply not knowing where to turn for help.

At Be Yourself Unit, we offer gentle, trauma-informed, and affirming mental health care for transgender women facing:

  • Depression, anxiety, or PTSD stemming from painful or marginalized experiences
  • Gender dysphoria — the distress caused by incongruence between gender identity and the body
  • Emotional exhaustion, isolation, or a persistent feeling of not being seen or accepted

We don’t just offer medical treatment — we listen deeply, walk beside you, and help you heal at your own pace.

  • Care is provided by psychiatrists and psychologists with deep knowledge of transgender women’s experiences
  • Treatment approaches combine evidence-based science with cultural sensitivity and personal context
  • We co-create care plans with you — no pressure, no judgment, no rush

7) Transgender Couple Counseling

Creating space for understanding, connection, and growth in relationships

Relationships involving a transgender woman can be rich, meaningful, and deeply rewarding — but they may also face unique challenges. At Be Yourself Unit, we offer a safe and supportive space for couples to explore:

  • Mutual understanding, expectations, and roles within the relationship
  • Building confidence, trust, and emotional safety between partners
  • Navigating gender identity alongside love, intimacy, and partnership
  • Strengthening communication in the face of change, transition, or external pressures

Counseling is provided by professionals with deep knowledge of gender-diverse relationships and the dynamics that often arise in couples where one or both partners identify as transgender.
