Caring for a Child with Fever
Fever is a natural response of the body to infections (viral or bacterial) or other non-infectious causes. Fever itself is not dangerous if the child is still active, playful, and able to eat and drink as usual.
If the following warning signs are present, you should seek medical attention to identify the cause of the fever and receive appropriate treatment:
- Infants younger than 3 months
- Lethargy, seizures, refusal to drink milk or water, difficulty breathing, or rapid breathing
- Rash or bleeding spots, cold hands and feet, or pallor
- Fever that does not subside within 2–3 days or returns within 1 week
