Every step you take is a stride toward a healthier heart and a longer life. Research has shown that by simply adding 500 extra steps to your daily routine, you can reduce the risk of heart disease-related mortality by over 7%. Furthermore, if you can reach a daily goal of 1,000 steps, you could experience a remarkable 15% drop in your mortality rate.   “The More You Walk, the Longer You Live”   The more you walk, the stronger your heart becomes. Strengthening your heart doesn’t necessarily mean engaging in strenuous sports; it involves consistent physical activity that engages your muscles. This activity helps burn oxygen, metabolize stored fat, enhance blood circulation, fortify blood vessels, lower blood pressure, and increase the levels of beneficial cholesterol in your body. Moreover, walking positively impacts your emotional well-being; each step makes you feel more alive, reduces stress, builds muscle, increases energy expenditure, assists in weight management, and boosts overall endurance.     The lives of 226,889 participants were followed over a period of more than 7 years in a study titled “The Association Between Daily Step Count and All-cause and Cardiovascular Mortality: a Meta-analysis,” which was printed in the European Journal of Preventive Cardiology. The study determined that those who increased their daily step count by 500 steps experienced a reduction of almost 7% in heart disease-related mortality by tracking step counts (varying from 3,867 to 11,529 steps in sequence). Another group that regularly increased their daily step count by 1,000 steps experienced a noteworthy drop in overall mortality risk of nearly 15%. Click here for more information regarding this study.     Start with small steps and gradually set higher daily goals until walking becomes a cherished habit. By simply adding 500 steps a day to your daily routine, you can incorporate walking into your lifestyle. Beyond the benefits to your heart, you’ll experience a noticeable transformation in both your body and mind. Extending your lifespan equates to an enhanced quality of life every day.   Heart Center of Excellence  | Bangkok Hospital Chiang Mai Tel. 052 089 888 Or Call Center 1719
