Dr. Wanchai Lokarnjanarat, Assistant Director of Bangkok Hospital Chiang Mai, on behalf of the working group Green Hospital, delivered an extended 300 liters of EM water microorganisms following the approach of “Restoring Wastewater, Returning Clear Water for the Nong Pa Khrang Community” to the Nong Pa Khrang Municipality Office. Mr. Somkid Lertkiattrong, Chairman of Nong Pa Khrang Subdistrict Municipality Council, accepted the donation along with representatives from Nong Pa Khrang village in the spirit of “people from the same home”.

EM water microorganisms, or “Effective Microorganisms that have been selected for their benefits to people, plants, animals, and the environment,” help condition the soil by balancing acidity and alkalinity. They improve fermentation and decomposition efficiency, creating nutrients as suitable fertilizers for plants. They can also prevent pathogens and build immunity for plants and animals. The “Green Hospital” working group hopes promoting EM expansion in our community will help reduce the use of toxins and chemicals in daily life, leading to higher quality and safer vegetables, ultimately improving quality of life and health sustainably.
Additionally, the working group has repurposed and cleaned packaging materials from Bangkok Hospital Chiang Mai, such as bottles and gallons, to package the extended EM. Further campaigns will be conducted to raise awareness among hospital staff and the community on the importance of reusing leftover materials for maximum benefit.
