Ambulatory Chemotherapy Care Center

The medical team will review and plan treatment regimen by choosing the regimen that is suitable for each individual patient. These treatment plans include:

  • Chemotherapeutic agents to destroy the cancers. These can be oral medications or intravenous injections to control the spread of cancer as well as alleviate the symptoms (in cases where cancer cannot be cured).
  • Hormonal therapy to prevent certain types of cancer, such as breast cancer, from growing. It may either stop the production of certain hormones or prevent the growth of cancer cells.
  • Targeted therapy aims to interrupt growth signals within the cancer cells so that they will not divide. This class of therapeutic agents has the least side effects than chemotherapy. It may be administered concurrently with chemotherapeutic agents and other techniques depending on the cancer stage and the patient’s overall status.
  • Immunotherapy induces the patient’s own immune system to effectively get rid of cancer cells and control their growth in the body.
  • Monoclonal antibodies can prevent the growth and spread of cancer cells. These antibodies will bind specifically to certain proteins expressed by the cancer cells.
  • Molecular diagnostics or genetic testing can help find the most suitable treatment technique for each individual patient.
