Cancer treatment process, whether chemotherapy alone or in combination with surgery, radiation, or hormones, may be a single agent or multi-agent, depending on the type of cancer and staging. Patients should prepare themselves prior to treatment as follows:
- Boost your health by eating healthy food.
- Eat food that can be easily digested, refrain from spicy food, and drink at least 2 – 3 liters of water per day.
- Get enough rest.
- Visit your dentist before receiving chemotherapy to check for tooth decay and gum inflammation.
- Get a blood test to assess your physical condition prior to treatment.
- Eat some food at least 2 – 3 hours prior to start of chemotherapy and urinate beforehand.
- Inform the doctor immediately if you have any side effects or experience abnormal episodes during the treatment.
