Hazardous Waste and Waste Management Program
The Hazardous Waste and Waste Management Program was established to promote proper waste segregation, collection, transportation, and disposal in accordance with recognized standards. The program aims to minimize environmental impacts, enhance workplace safety, and raise awareness among all personnel to actively participate in effective and sustainable waste management practices.
Waste Segregation by Bin Color
Bangkok Trat Hospital places great importance on waste segregation at the source. Waste is categorized according to color-coded bins as follows:
- 🟢 Green Bin (Organic Waste)
For food scraps, fruit and vegetable peels, and other biodegradable waste. - 🔵 Blue Bin (General Waste)
For non-recyclable waste such as used tissues, snack wrappers, food-contaminated foil, and food-soiled packaging. - 🟡 Yellow Bin (Recyclable Waste)
For materials that can be recycled, including plastic bottles, beverage cans, glass bottles, and beverage cartons. - 🔴 Red Bin (Infectious Waste)
For medical waste and materials contaminated with bodily fluids or infectious agents, such as surgical masks, medical gloves, cotton balls, gauze, and used medical supplies. - ⚫ Gray Bin (Hazardous Waste)
For waste containing hazardous substances, including fluorescent lamps, batteries, expired medications, printer cartridges, and chemical containers.
