“More than that, wanted to eat Hainanese chicken rice but had no money. Relatives were not around, and it was late, making it hard to find food. But there was an angel nurse in the ICU who ordered it for him to eat.”
A Canadian patient who needed hip replacement surgery was concerned about not knowing how to prepare before and after the surgery for recovery. The staff from Bangkok Sanamchan Hospital didn’t leave the patient worried. They traveled to the patient’s home in Kanchanaburi province to provide advice on preparing for the surgery and ensuring a suitable environment for post-operative recovery.
On the day the patient underwent hip replacement surgery, a team of orthopedic surgeons from Bangkok Sanamchan Hospital, together with orthopedic surgeons from Bangkok Hospital (Headquarters), were there to care for and plan the treatment. This surgery used the technique of Direct Anterior Approach Cosmetic Incision Hip Replacement, which is a hip surgery along the bikini line to hide the surgical scar. The benefits to the patient include less pain, quick recovery, easy movement, and reduced scarring.
After the surgery, the patient was very impressed. They did not expect the nurse to be so proficient in English. They did not expect the hospital to prepare at their home, did not expect a professional professor to come from Bangkok, did not expect Dr. Taweekiet to be so kind and friendly, and to spend so much time, and did not expect all the ICU nurses to come and greet, say hello while having to stay in the ICU, which made them feel not alone and comfortable receiving the service.
“Service beyond expectations is the heart of Bangkok Sanamchan Hospital.”
