As the due date approaches, mothers often worry about when they will give birth and whether the baby will come into this world smoothly. Observing the 4 signs that indicate a mother is close to delivery can help bring her to the hospital as soon as possible.
1. Contractions occur when the uterus contracts regularly but more frequently over time. True contractions that are not false alarms occur periodically, regardless of intensity, and will not go away after 1 hour. The mother should rush to the hospital immediately. However, if the pain subsides, it might be false labor due to activities or even bladder contractions.
2. Water breaking is characterized by a large amount of clear fluid flowing out from the vaginal area, not stopping and unrelated to urination. If fluid is released from the vagina, it may indicate that the amniotic sac has ruptured, increasing the risk of infection for the baby in the womb.

3. Bleeding or mucus from the vagina occurs when the mucus plug at the cervix is dislodged due to uterine contractions causing the baby’s head to push against the cervix. This results in tearing of blood vessels and the release of mucus that blocks the cervix. The presence of blood indicates that the mother is entering labor and should get to the hospital as quickly as possible.
4. Decreased fetal movements Fetal movements indicate strength; the more the baby moves, the healthier they are. However, if the baby moves less, fewer than ten times a day, it is advised to see a doctor immediately.
If there are warning signs as mentioned above, the mother is likely very close to giving birth. It is recommended to bring her to the hospital to meet a doctor and confidently prepare for the delivery.
