Possible side effects of COVID-19 VACCINE

Mild to moderate symptoms

Fever (within 48 hours), mild headache, muscle pain or body ache

  • Drink plenty of water.
  • Antipyretic and pain killer drugs e.g. paracetamol can be taken as instructed.

Nausea or vomiting

  • Oral dehydration solution might be taken to relieve weakness caused by vomiting

Pain, swelling, redness and warmth at the injection site

  • A cold compression is advised.
  • If symptoms persist, pain killer drugs can be taken as instructed.

Serious symptoms

Fever (within 48 hours), mild headache, muscle pain or body ache

  • Drink plenty of water.
  • Antipyretic and pain killer drugs e.g. paracetamol can be taken as instructed.

Chest discomfort or breathing difficulties

Severe headache

Stroke-like symptoms e.g. lip drooping and leg or arm weakness

Bruises or bleeding spots

Skin rash

Vomiting (more than 5 times within 24 hours)

Seizure or unconsciousness


**In case that any serious symptom exhibits, immediate medical attention is needed.
