Moderna COVID-19 Vaccine (as Alternative COVID-19 Vaccine)

Due to the global COVID-19 pandemic, the Thai government has arranged free COVID-19 vaccines for eligible people across the country. Nonetheless, alternative COVID-19 vaccines will be available at private hospitals for anyone who is not contraindicated to those particular alternative vaccines. To receive alternative COVID-19 vaccines, the medical costs need to be subsidized by individuals. 

Reservation for vaccination with Moderna COVID-19 vaccine (as alternative vaccine against COVID-19) at Bangkok Hospital Headquarters will be available. Regarding the price scheme regulated by The Private Hospital Association Thailand, the price of Moderna COVID-19 vaccine is charged at 1,650 THB/dose. This price includes vaccine (with insurance in case vaccine allergy develops), medical supply and hospital fees on the vaccination day only. Expected period of arrival of Moderna COVID-19 vaccine at Bangkok Hospital Headquarters is October 2021 – March 2022.

Recommendations on Moderna COVID-19 vaccine

  1. This COVID-19 vaccine is recommended for people aged 18 or older. For patients with certain underlying conditions or people who have particular concerns of vaccination, please consult the doctor prior to vaccination.
  2. For people who have never been vaccinated with any COVID-19 vaccines
    • 2.1 Moderna COVID-19 vaccine can be administered in 2 doses with a 4-week interval.
  3. For people who have been previously vaccinated with COVID-19 vaccines (both 1 dose and 2 doses)
    • 3.1 In case that 1 dose of COVID-19 vaccine has been previously given:
      Due to a lack of clinical evidence to firmly assure vaccine’s efficacy and safety especially for vaccine interchangeability, Bangkok Hospital Headquarters highly recommend you to complete the second dose with similar vaccine that you formerly received. In regard to recent information, Moderna COVID-19 vaccine is not advised to be used interchangeably with other vaccines. In case that you had vaccine allergy caused by previous COVID-19 vaccine, please consult the doctor prior to receiving any COVID-19 vaccines.
    • 3.2 In case that 2 doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been previously given and you need to receive Moderna COVID-19 vaccine as a booster (third) dose:
      • 3.2.1 In case that 2 doses of Sinovac COVID-19 vaccine were given: Moderna COVID-19 vaccine should be administered 3-4 months apart from the second dose of Sinovac COVID-19 vaccine. As regularly scheduled, one- two doses of Moderna COVID-19 vaccine must be given with a 4-week interval.
      • 3.2.2 In case that 2 doses of AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine were given: Moderna COVID-19 vaccine should be administered 4-6 months apart from the second dose of AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine. Only one dose of Moderna COVID-19 vaccine is required after completing two doses of AstraZenaca COVID-19 vaccine.

Remark: Please note that the vaccine administrative guideline for 2nd and 3rd doses might be altered, depending on recommendations and clinical studies in the future.

Terms and Conditions:

  1. Bangkok Hospital Headquarters reserve the right to provide vaccination services to customers who present their E-coupons at the service counter only.
  2. E-coupon only applies to Moderna COVID-19 vaccine. Therefore, it cannot be exchanged for any reason.
  3. Your appointment for vaccination will be made and you will be further notified once Moderna COVID-19 vaccine arrives at Bangkok Hospital Headquarters.
  4. This price is valid for Thais and Domestic Expatriates.
  5. E-coupon can be used at Bangkok Hospital Headquarters only.
  6. E-coupon is valid until 31 March 2022.
  7. Bangkok Hospital Headquarters only provide vaccination service following the medical standard instructions available in particular period of time.

Disclaimers:

  • Bangkok Hospital Headquarters does not purchase Moderna COVID-19 vaccines directly from the pharmaceutical company. Since vaccine arrangements and distributions are proceeded by the Government Pharmaceutical Organization (GPO), Thailand, Bangkok Hospital Headquarters might not be able to commit the vaccine quantity or exact date of vaccine arrival. In case that we cannot deliver your reserved Moderna COVID-19 vaccines on time, Bangkok Hospital Headquarters offer alternative options as follows:
    • 1. Receiving a full refund transferred to your bank account or credit card, depending on your payment channel. OR
    • 2. Suspending your reserved vaccine until the next batch is obtained.

If this inconvenience occurs, Bangkok Hospital Headquarters will keep you informed via your given email and/or SMS as soon as possible.

  • Appointment detail for vaccination with Moderna COVID-19 vaccine can be changed (e.g. name and surname of the vaccine recipients and date/time of appointment) at least 3 days in advance.
  • Once the vaccine is available and prepared as scheduled, if you want to change date and/or appointment time or cancel vaccination for any reasons, Bangkok Hospital Headquarters reserve the right to refuse a refund.
  • Bangkok Hospital Headquarters reserve the right to change terms and conditions without prior notice.
