Outpatient Services

If your insurance provider has specifically contracted with the hospital to provide cashless outpatient services, then you may receive them according to your plan.  If not, you will need to pay your medical bill yourself and claim back from your insurance provider later.  We will provide you with a medicalcertificate for reimbursement directly from your insurance company.

Planned Inpatient Services

If you are planning for your medically necessary inpatient procedure in advance and think it may be covered by your insurance plan, Bangkok Hospital can assist you in obtaining a guarantee of payment prior to admission.
To make the process as smooth as possible, please follow these steps:
  • Please contact our appointment booking team at the Bangkok Referral Center to schedule your medical procedure.
  • Attach copies of the following documents to your correspondence with the Bangkok Referral Center:
  • A scanned copy of your passport (photo page)
  • A copy (front and back) of your current medical insurance certificate or card
  • Any other documents required by your insurance company for identification purposes
Please note that Bangkok Hospital reserves the right to refuse policies from certain insurance companies at our own discretion. We will advise you immediately if we cannot work with your insurance provider.
Bangkok Hospital will then communicate with your insurance company to assist you in obtaining a Guarantee of Payment in advance of your admission.

International Private Medical Insurance


In the event of an emergency or an un-planned inpatient visit, your insurance provider may still provide coverage for your treatment. To ensure payment, please follow these steps:
  • You will be asked to present the following items upon arrival at the hospital:
  • Passport
  • Current medical insurance certificate or card
  • Any other documents required by your insurance company for identification purposes
Please note that Bangkok Hospital reserves the right to refuse policies from certain insurance companies at our own discretion. We will advise you immediately if we cannot work with your insurance provider.
  • Your physician will write a detailed medical report with your treatment plan.
  • Our International 3rd Party Payer Services team will coordinate with your insurance provider for the approval of a Guarantee of Payment for your medical expenses.
  • The insurance provider then evaluates and makes a decision on coverage.  Normally a Guarantee of Payment will be sent to Bangkok Hospital within 24-48 hours.  Despite your having an insurance policy, there may be times when the insurance provider does not provide a Guarantee of Payment within this time period.  Possible reasons for this may include:
  • Verification process of the insurance provider
  • Time needed to process the application and/or length of stay may be insufficient to afford the insurance provider adequate time
  • Differences in time zones, weekends or bank holidays
  • Pre-existing conditions or exclusions
  • Terms and conditions of your policy
  • If there is a delay and the documents are not produced by the time you have been discharged, we will not be able to process your insurance claim.  You will be required to pay the bill in full by cash or credit card and then file for reimbursement directly with your insurance company.
  • You are always required to pay any excess amount at the time of your discharge.  The excess amount may include such expenses as insurance co-payments, room rates that exceed your insured limit, or personal expenses such as telephone calls that are in addition to our included services.
  • Complete insurance information must be submitted during your admission.  We will not be able to process any insurance claims after you have been discharged.

Travel Insurance


The potential disruption of a holiday or business trip by a medical emergency is leading more and more people to consider travel insurance.  As the number of insured travelers increases, so too do the number of medical facilities that work closely with travel insurers.
Bangkok Hospital works with hundreds of travel insurance companies either directly or through their medical assistance providers.

Rather than taking a one-size-fits-all approach, we provide you with a package tailored to your healthcare needs. Following a detailed evaluation of your physical health, taking into account your age, medical history, and any underlying illnesses, we furnish you with one set price for your procedure.
Healthcare Planning Made Painless
Hidden fees, unexplained surcharges and exorbitant costs due to unexpected complications can significantly affect your planned healthcare expenditures. To address this, our growing list of Fixed Price Packages fully incorporates:

We expect the unexpected
Surgical Packages are a common model for international hospitals, particularly for healthcare facilities that cater to the growing demand for global healthcare or "medical tourism." But too often the level of exclusions, terms and conditions can make it difficult to determine the actual cost even after you have been admitted.
At Bangkok Hospital, our Fixed Price Package rates are inclusive of unexpected complications such as:
  • Pain
  • Nausea
  • Bleeding
  • Infection
In other words, if any of the above arise during your treatment, you will not be billed any additional fees for additional treatment.
Furthermore, we have created an outlier policy for unexpected complications not listed above. What this means is that even if your treatment leads to a far more complicated procedure, for whatever reason, a cap will be placed and a maximum fee limit will be adhered to, based on your eligibility criteria.
Please note:
  • Fixed pricing program cannot be used in conjunction with other promotions
  • Patients must be evaluated by Bangkok Hospital physicians prior to treatment to qualify
  • Bangkok Hospital reserves the right to cancel the fixed pricing program if the patient does not disclose a known underlying condition

As you plan your trip to visit our medical facilities and require transportation services between the airports* and our hospital. The concierge can assist you with the arrangements.
We offer vehicles ranging from salon to luxury limousines*, including commuter vans, to accommodate the capacity and requirements of your needs. Our transportation services are chauffeured-driven and are also available for personal-hire or point-to-point basis.
Each of the vehicles comes with safe, modern amenities, providing greater comfort and travel experience.

VIP Medical Services
Fast Track
Discerning visitors and VIPs can also request for Fast Track* services. Our appointed delegates will escort and facilitate the arriving or departing visitors with a quick check-through at the immigrations and customs at the airports.
For Fast Track assistance, please provide your information in the Special Request text box of the booking form.

* Transportation services may not be available at all airports and vehicle types are subject to availability. Advance reservations are highly suggested.
** Fast Track services may not be available at all airports. Passengers are responsible to posses lawful travel documents as regulated by the entry policies of Thailand. We will not be responsible for processing entry / exit permits or reliable for visitors whose travel have been declined by the airport / travel authorities.
