Hand, Foot and Mouth Disease (HFMD) – A common illness to watch out for during the rainy season, especially in young children
Initial Symptoms:
- Fever, mouth pain, poor appetite
- Blisters around or inside the mouth
- Blisters on the body, palms, and feet
The HFMD vaccine available in Thailand is the Enterovirus Type 71 vaccine.
It can be given to children from 6 months to 6 years old.
Two doses are administered one month apart.
The vaccine can protect against infection by up to 90% and prevent severe complications by 100%.
