Bangkok Hospital Udon provides support to the Center for the Prevention and Reduction of Road Accidents during Songkran 2026. Today (April 9, 2026) at 09:00 AM, the Marketing Communications Department of Bangkok Hospital Udon participated in the opening ceremony and donated supplies to support the center’s operations. Mr. Rachan Soonhua, Governor of Udon Thani Province, presided over the ceremony, with Ms. Punlarin Phukit, Head of the Provincial Office of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation, delivering the report. Vice Governors, heads of government agencies, and the private sector attended the event in front of the Thongyai Auditorium, Udon Thani Provincial Hall. Udon Thani Province established the Center for the Prevention and Reduction of Road Accidents during Songkran 2026, integrating actions under the 2026 Songkran road safety plan during the intensive control period from April 10–16, 2026. This is based on 5 main measures: management, road and environment risk reduction, vehicle risk reduction, safe road users, and post-accident assistance, including the “3-Checkpoint Coordination” measures. Checkpoints and personnel cover all 20 districts, consisting of 38 main checkpoints, 92 service points, 450 community checkpoints, and 55 rapid response units. The goal is to reduce the number of accidents, injuries (admissions), and fatalities by at least 5% compared to the 3-year average: accidents not exceeding 21 cases, injuries not exceeding 17 persons, and fatalities not exceeding 4 persons. Today’s activities included a road safety parade to raise public awareness under the theme “Safe Driving, Reduce Speed, Reduce Accidents.” It received cooperation from partners in the public and private sectors, civil society, foundations, and clubs, featuring agency vehicles and a 100% helmet-wearing motorcycle club. Over 300 staff, volunteers, and citizens joined the parade, along with receiving supporting supplies from various organizations for the intensive control period during the Songkran Festival.
