The Royal Thai Embassy in Kuwait organized “Thailand Medical, Healthcare and Wellness Tourism Networking 2024” concurrent with the 13th Kuwait MEDICA Conference and Exhibition, on 6 -7 June 2024 at the Boulevard Ballroom in Salmiyah.
His Excellency Mr.Ekapol Poolpipat, Ambassador of Thailand to Kuwait, highlighted in the opening remarks that Thailand’s efforts to maintain the world’s class medical and wellness tourist destinations and service. In 2023, 20 million tourists visited Thailand which included 79,255 Kuwait, a substantial increase from 44,334 Kuwaitis in 2022. The Royal Thai government has committed to promote medical tourism as one of the “New Engine of Growth” and Thailand as the International Medical Hub. Ms. Sutipa Teerapatsakul, Deputy Director of Tourism Authority of Thailand in Dubai highlighted that Thailand attributes its growth in medical tourism due to its high standard medical care, affordability and accessibility, customized medical packages, advanced technologies and world class hospitality.
The event provided a platform for speakers from 5 Thai private hospitals, namely Dr. Witit Artavatkun, CEO of Piyavate Hospital, Dr. Phamornsak, CEO of Sukumvit Hopspital, Dr. Anan Salem of BPRK International Hospital, Mr. Achof Yumyuan of Bangkok Hospital, Dr. Piriya Atisook of Bangkok Hospital Siriroj in Phuket. Each speaker gave update information of their excellence in medical, health and wellness expertise and services of those hospitals. They welcomed foreign medical tourists who want to invest their health and improve their wellbeing. Also, they expressed their wishes to strengthen cooperation and partnership with Kuwaiti counterparts on medical and wellness tourism.
