After the procedure, a urinary catheter is inserted for about one week to allow the prostate to heal and for the swelling to subside, facilitating a return to normal urination.
The high-temperature steam causes targeted cell death (apoptosis) in the prostate tissue that is obstructing the urethra. As a result, the prostate shrinks, and normal urinary function is restored. This method directly addresses the underlying cause of BPH.
