Cardiac Function Test During Exercise (Exercise Stress Test)
This is a test of cardiac function by having the patient exercise on a treadmill to test whether when the heart is working harder and the heart muscle requires more oxygen from the blood, a condition of heart ischemia occurs or not. This is observed from changes in the electrocardiogram and symptoms like chest pain or fatigue, as well as changes in blood pressure levels.
Heart Function Test with Echocardiogram (Echocardiogram)
This involves using high-frequency waves directed to the heart area and receiving reflected sounds, which are then produced as images displayed on a monitor. It is used to assess the function during cardiac contraction and relaxation, blood circulation, the opening and closing of heart valves, heart muscle function, and the pathology of the heart’s covering (pericardium).
