Bangkok Hospital Chiang Rai believes that good health begins with a healthy environment. Therefore, we are committed to driving our organization forward under the vision of “BDMS Earth Healthcare” to transform into a sustainably environmentally friendly hospital.
On May 13, 2026, the hospital was honored to welcome the committee for the BDMS Green Healthcare Re-accreditation assessment, which aims to evaluate the hospital’s achievements and ESG (Environment, Social, Governance) development over the past three years.
As part of this initiative, the hospital has continuously developed and improved various systems both inside and outside the building, including:
- The implementation of a Building Automation System (BAS) to efficiently control and manage energy consumption within the building, helping reduce electricity usage from lighting and air-conditioning systems
- Wastewater treatment and water reuse systems, including automatic irrigation systems around the hospital
- Waste segregation management and recycling stations
- A Paperless Initiative to reduce paper usage through digital systems
In addition, the hospital places great importance on creating a “PM2.5 Safe Zone” within the building through a Positive Pressure system to help protect the health of staff and service users from air pollution.
These efforts are part of the hospital’s Carbon Neutrality Plan 2030, which aims to achieve carbon neutrality by 2030 in order to create a sustainable environment for the Chiang Rai community and future generations.
The Green Healthcare project marks another important milestone for hospitals within the BDMS network in driving sustainability while continuing to deliver high-quality, clean, safe, and environmentally friendly healthcare services for the long-term well-being of patients, communities, and society.
