June 9, 2021 – Mr. Weeraphan Deeon (center) Deputy Governor of Chiang Mai Province honored to preside over the opening ceremony of the Chinese government’s Sinovac vaccine center project “Spring Sprout” at Bangkok Hospital Chiang Mai, with Mr. Wu Zhi Wu (left) Consul General of the People’s Republic of China in Chiang Mai, and Major General Dr. Niwat Boonyuen (right) Director of Bangkok Hospital Chiang Mai, demonstrating readiness to provide COVID-19 vaccination services to Chinese residents in the northern region, creating herd immunity in the area quickly, and also reaffirming the good relations and friendship between the two countries.

Bangkok Hospital Chiang Mai supports international cooperation in preventing the spread of COVID-19. It has been entrusted by the Consulate General of the People’s Republic of China in Chiang Mai to be the “COVID-19 Vaccination Center for Chinese citizens in the northern region”. All vaccines are Sinovac vaccines donated by the Chinese government to the Thai government under the Chinese government’s Spring Sprout program, conducted through the Ministry of Public Health of Thailand since May 2021. The hospital is pleased to participate in the program by providing allocated vaccinations free of charge to Chinese residents in Chiang Mai and northern Thailand, starting services on June 9, 2021, as the first day.
