June 7, 2021 – Assoc. Prof. Dr. Veerachai Nawarangsi (third from left), Medical Director, and Dr. Wanchai Lokananrat (third from right), Assistant Director of Bangkok Hospital Chiang Mai, led a group of medical and multidisciplinary staff to visit the COVID-19 vaccination venue at the main conference room, 4th floor of Bangkok Hospital Chiang Mai. They confirmed that Bangkok Hospital Chiang Mai is 100% ready to provide COVID-19 vaccination services to the Chiang Mai public who have registered and scheduled appointments through the “Mor Prom” app, with the first group of vaccinations beginning full service today.
Assoc. Prof. Dr. Veerachai stated, “As one of the state’s COVID-19 vaccination centers, Bangkok Hospital Chiang Mai is pleased and willing to alleviate the government’s efforts in solving the COVID-19 problem by providing swift and comprehensive vaccination services to residents of Chiang Mai according to the target. We have mobilized doctors and a multidisciplinary team to closely monitor the recipients. This includes ‘volunteer medical teams’ from various disciplines volunteering to monitor and observe symptoms in the elderly and patients with 7 chronic conditions during and after vaccination, along with infection control nurses, professional nurses, pharmacists, and staff equipped with necessary equipment for any necessary transportation or medical services, ensuring the recipients’ safety under international medical standards.”

“For the facilities section, we have specially prepared an area for the ‘Mor Prom’ vaccine services, separate from other services at the hospital, by allocating the area at the main conference room, 4th floor, considering physical distancing principles. The area is cleaned every hour, and sufficient hand sanitizing alcohol gel is provided for vaccine visitors, in addition to rigorous COVID-19 screening measures from the entrance, which we have continuously adhered to previously, according to ‘Universal Precautions’ principles,” said the Medical Director of Bangkok Hospital Chiang Mai.

The COVID-19 vaccination under the “Mor Prom” program is a significant step in jointly building herd immunity for the Chiang Mai community, according to the Ministry of Public Health’s plan to allocate AstraZeneca and Sinovac vaccines to hospitals in Chiang Mai for residents who preregistered through the “Mor Prom” application in the first round. It is also another project where the hospital cooperates with government agencies to vaccinate residents in Chiang Mai to restore normalcy in Chiang Mai and quickly restore confidence so that the private sector can drive the economy forward.
