Recently, Bangkok Hospital Chiang Mai, in collaboration with Rimping Supermarket, has moved forward to expand the project “Giving Medicine Blister Packs and Plastic Medicine Bags a Second Life” under the Green Healthcare concept and BDMS sustainability guidelines, to increase used-material drop-off points and make them more conveniently accessible to people in the Chiang Mai community.
This collaboration aims to promote proper waste separation of medicine blister packs and plastic medicine bags. The public can return used materials at all 9 Rimping Supermarket branches and at Bangkok Hospital Chiang Mai before they are sent into an appropriate recycling process, helping reduce waste volume and encouraging efficient use of resources.
Join in sorting, returning, and giving medicine blister packs a second life
The project accepts materials that can enter the recycling process, including:
- Aluminum blister packs (Aluminum Blister Packs)
- Plastic medicine bags (Medicine Zip Bags)
The collected materials will be gathered and forwarded to an appropriate recycling process in accordance with environmental guidelines, helping reduce waste volume and lessen long-term environmental impacts.
Positive environmental change can start from small things in everyday life. Simply separate used materials and return them at designated drop-off points, and you can take part in building a sustainable resource-management system for the community.
Connecting health, community, and the environment toward sustainability
On this occasion, the Rimping Supermarket team welcomed Dr. Arisada Pitchayadechakoon, Acting Director of Bangkok Hospital Chiang Mai, and joined a visit and exchange of ideas about various projects that reflect their commitment to supporting local entrepreneurs and products in Chiang Mai, as well as business practices that take the community and the environment into account.
This concept aligns with the ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) approach of Bangkok Hospital Chiang Mai, which places importance on healthcare alongside caring for society, the community, and the environment.
This collaboration between Bangkok Hospital Chiang Mai and Rimping Supermarket, therefore, is not only about increasing drop-off points for medicine blister packs and plastic medicine bags, but also about connecting the ideas of two organizations committed to creating a Local & Green Ecosystem to support the sustainable growth of health, entrepreneurs, the community, and the environment of Chiang Mai together.
Be part of caring for Chiang Mai
Because caring for health is not limited to taking care of ourselves, but also includes caring for the community and the environment where we live.
Sort • Return • Give medicine blister packs a second life
Let’s work together to turn used materials back into something valuable and be part of building Chiang Mai into a community that sustainably cares about health and the environment.
