    Message from CEO
    Bangkok Hospital Chiang Mai
    Updated on: 09 Dec 2025

    Dear All,

I am Dr. Narintara Boonjongcharoen, the newly appointed Hospital Director of Bangkok Hospital Chiang Mai and CEO of BDMS Group 4, overseeing seven private hospitals under the BDMS umbrella across the North and Northeast regions of Thailand.

As a native of Chiang Mai, I was born in a small village in Chom Thong District, home to Doi Inthanon, the highest mountain in Thailand. Chiang Mai’s culture is deeply rooted in the rich heritage of the old Lanna Kingdom, the “Land of One Billion Thousand Rice Fields.” My upbringing reflects a harmonious blend of Thai traditions, influences from Laos (Lan Chang, “Land of One Billion Thousand Elephants”), Myanmar, Southern China, and Western culture. On my paternal side, I come from a Chinese entrepreneurial family, while my maternal lineage connects to the Thai Yong community, immigrants from Shan State.

My educational journey began at Sri Chom Thong Community School, followed by secondary studies at Prince’s Royal College and Yuparaj Wittayalai School. In 1981, I joined the Faculty of Medicine at Chiang Mai University (Med CMU Class of 24) and earned my Doctor of Medicine degree in 1987, becoming a proud member of the Thai Medical Council.

I began my career in the public sector as a lecturer in the Department of Anatomy at Chiang Mai University (1988–1990) before pursuing a residency in Orthopaedics (1990–1993). After becoming an orthopaedic surgeon, I practiced at Bangkok Hospital Pattaya from 1993 to 2004, transitioning into hospital administration after a decade of medical practice.

In pursuit of excellence, I have pursued extensive postgraduate education, including:

    • Thai Naval War College, Class 38
    • Sasin SEP Program, Class 27
    • Master of Medical Management, Cohort 10 , 2011 , The American Collage of Physician Executives and University of Southern California, United States
    • Thai Good Governance for Medical Executives, Cohort 1
    • TopCAT Cohort 5, Thai Chamber of Commerce University

My hobbies include reading, cycling, hill climbing, calisthenics, and golfing.

My leadership journey spans diverse roles and regions, including serving as Hospital Director of Bangkok Hospital Samui on Koh Samui and Bangkok Hospital Rayong in the Eastern Economic Corridor. Internationally, I managed UB Songdo Hospital in Mongolia for three years and served in Cambodia as CEO of Royal Angkor International Hospital and Royal Phnom Penh Hospital for over four years. Upon returning to Thailand, I became CEO of BDMS Group 6 in Phuket, overseeing six hospitals across Southern Thailand, before assuming my current role on October 15, 2024.

With this diverse experience, I am confident in our ability to elevate Bangkok Hospital Chiang Mai to become a leading healthcare provider in the Asia-Pacific region. We will focus on delivering a seamless continuum of care, encompassing wellness, prevention, definitive treatments, palliative care, and end-of-life care.

Despite achieving JCI accreditation four times in the past decade, we are committed to deepening our collaboration with Joint Commission International starting in 2024. This will enable us to implement top-tier quality and patient safety initiatives. Together, we will embrace smart, digitalized, AI-driven, value-based healthcare solutions, foster environmental stewardship through the ESG platform, and ensure sustainability while enhancing patient-centered services for exceptional experiences.

Let us unite to set new benchmarks in healthcare and achieve excellence in every aspect of our mission.

    Sincerely,
    Dr. Narintara Boonjongcharoen
Hospital Director, Bangkok Hospital Chiang Mai
    CEO, BDMS Group 4
