Cervical cancer is the second most common cancer in Thai women after breast cancer. According to World Health Organization statistics, for women who have cervical cancer, half of them die from it. Thai women shouldn’t have to die from cervical cancer because of the expert knowledge of doctors and tools currently available in Thailand.

Cervical cancer is caused by HPV (Human Papilloma Virus). There are 15 different types of HPV species that can cause cancer. It will take at least 10 years for HPV to turn into cancer. Early detection and screening is very important to prevent and cure cervical cancer.

At present, cervical cancer is the only cancer that can be prevented by taking good care of your health. Thai women should be screened regularly every 2 to 3 years to find cervical cell abnormalities, including HPV, and receive the right vaccines to prevent cervical cancer. The HPV vaccination, coupled with regular screening of cervical cancer, will make the prevention of cervical cancer more effective.
