How can we ensure that our pets are rabies-free?
Warm-blooded animals particularly mammals, e.g. dog, cat, rabbit, bird, squirrel, treeshrew and hamster can carry or contract rabies. Rabies virus is transmitted through direct contact, such as bites or scratches from an infected animal. Once infected, the rabies virus can damage central nervous system which sometimes leads to fatal consequence. The best preventive approach is to be vaccinated against rabies before exposure to the virus.
