BDMS in collaboration with the Air Force established “BDMS Field Hospital, Air Force Sports Stadium (Thupatemi)” to accommodate COVID-19 patients of the yellow group, to assist the public and alleviate and break the cycle towards severe illness
Air Chief Marshal Airbull Suttiwan, Commander of the Air Force, together with Dr. Teres Grasanai Raviwongse, Director-General of the Department of Health Service Support, and Dr. Pramaporn Prasatthong-Osoth, Chairman and CEO of Bangkok Dusit Medical Services Public Company Limited (BDMS), jointlyinspected the readiness of the BDMS Field Hospital
BDMS Field Hospital, Air Force Sports Stadium (Thupatemi)
The BDMS Field Hospital, Air Force Sports Stadium (Thupatemi), is supported by the Air Force in terms of facilities, with BDMS renovating the area, setting up the field hospital system, medical equipment, and preparing a medical team ready to accommodate COVID-19 patients up to 100 beds, admitting patients of the yellow group, who are those with moderate severe symptoms, through the medical team of Phramongkutklao Hospital, Royal Thai Air Force Medical Department, to help the public and the nearby community alleviate the hardships of increasing COVID-19 patients according to the current severe epidemic situation, which results in hospitals being unable to allocate beds to accommodate COVID-19 patients sufficientlyBesides the equipment system and amenities, BDMS also adapted innovation for beneficial use, including 5 intelligent robots (Healthy Bot) that will help deliver food and medicine to patients to reduce infection risk. Moreover, technology was used in patient care to minimize contact, allowing the limited available medical personnel to effectively care for patients. The medical team stationed at the field hospital and in the BDMS network will monitor and follow-up on the symptoms closely through online screens, enabling efficient patient care management. If a patient’s condition is severe or critical (red group), coordination with hospitals in the BDMS network BDMS is conducted to immediately transfer the critical condition patients for further treatment
Furthermore, the BDMS Field Hospital, Air Force Sports Stadium (Thupatemi) is supported by the Dusit Medical Services Foundation under the Royal Patronage of Her Royal Highness Princess Galyani Vadhana, Krom Luang Naradhiwas Rajanagarindra, and various other organizations, including Viriyah Insurance Public Company Limited, Thongpool Wonglee Family Foundation, Siam Cement Public Company Limited, True Corporation Public Company Limited, Linde (Thailand) Public Company Limited, Saha Pathanapibul Pharmaceutical Company Limited, and Winbridge Company Limited among others, byobtaining a license to operate from the Department of Health Service Support, following the Ministry of Public Health’s field hospital standards, able to start services from28 July 2021 onwards
