On Thursday, March 2nd, 2017, Bangkok Dusit Medical Services Public Co. Ltd. signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on academic and research development cooperation for cancer patient care with the Department of Medical Services, Ministry of Public Health, and the National Cancer Institute. The signatories were Dr. Thirapun Tophanthananon, the Director-General of the Medical Services Department, Ministry of Public Health; Dr. Veerawat Imsamran, the Director of the National Cancer Institute; Dr. Chatree Duangnet, Vice Chairman, Chief Operating Officer – Medical Affairs, and President of Medical Administrative Committee, Bangkok Hospital Medical Center, Bangkok Dusit Medical Services Plc.; Dr. Poramaporn Prasarttong-Osoth, President of Group 1 and Special Professor Dr. Theerawut Khuakperm, the Director of Wattanosoth Cancer Hospital, attended this MOU signing.
This collaboration between the public and private sectors aims to develop academic work, research and development, and medical training for personnel to meet the needs of Thai people and those in ASEAN countries, as well as to improve the convenience and speed of medical services. This will also allow for a greater ability to claim medical expenses according to government regulations or patient’s entitlements.
