Multiple sclerosis or MS is a potentially disabling disease of the central nervous system, affecting the brain, spinal cord and optic nerves. In MS, the immune system attacks the protective sheath that covers nerve fibers, causing communication problems and permanent damages or deterioration of the nerves. - Blood test and spinal tap (lumbar puncture)
