Ensuring our excellent care of hip fractures in geriatrics, Bangkok Hospital and Bangkok International Hospital have received the award “Fracture Liaison Service” from the Department of Medical Services, Ministry of Public Health Thailand during Thailand FLS Forum held on 17 June 2022 at Holiday Inn Bangkok Silom. In this event, our hospitals were represented by Dr. Vajara Phiphobmongkol, Dr. Pichet Yiemsiri, Dr. Pannida Wattanapanom, Chutikan Suwalapha and Suwanna Marukee.
Elderly people are at greater risk of hip fractures, particularly those who present with osteoporosis. Not only a wide range of complications, e.g. bedsores, blood clots in the legs or lungs, infections and sepsis, but hip fractures also substantially increase the risk of death in the elderly. With our expertise in excellent care of hip fractures in geriatrics conducted since 2013, Bangkok Hospital Headquarters have provided comprehensive treatments to more than 500 elderly patients suffering from fractures.
