Exercise Stress Test (EST) Package

(The package does not cover the physical examination by cardiologist.)

Exercise Stress Test is arecording of the electrical activities of the heart while the subject is exercising on a treadmill or an exercise bicycle.  This method can give early diagnosis of chest pain and evaluate the function of the heart under physical stress.

Medication and Food

Fasting should occur at least 3 hours before EST.  This should also include the cessation of smoking and the intake of caffeine (coffee, tea, carbonated beverages and some medicine).  Patients with diabetes, or those who are on regular medications, must consult their physicians as to the dietary and medical requirements before undergoing EST.  Small amount of water is permitted before the exercise.
