Patient's Story

I have visited Bangkok Hospital since I was a child. All the matters I got sick, from common cold, fever, abdominal pain brought me to the hospital. It was very impressive for the hospitality and the best services. I also have my annual regular health check up at Bangkok Hospital.

Last year I came for annual health check up, abnormal mammogram and ultrasound were found. My doctor took a complete physical examination and biopsy was performed. The diagnosis was early stage breast cancer. My family and I were very frightened since I was healthy and I had no obvious warning signs. My doctor explained treatment and management plan and convinced me that the cancer could be cured without breast resection. This made me and my family more hopeful. The first time I heard about the diagnosis of breast cancer, I confessed that it was terrible. There were so many fears and so many questions that I could not sleep. Will I die? How long will I survive? My general health at that time was not good, of course, I always thought of that incurable disease. I was also afraid of hair loss due to chemotherapy.

When I came to Wattanosoth Cancer Hospital, my doctor, a medical oncologist, explained about chemotherapy program and answered all of my questions. Those answer brought me more confidences and willing to take part in treatment schedule. I was so lucky that I had very minimal side effects from chemotherapy. Without nausea, vomiting and hair loss, I spent almost near normal daily life and activities.
